Cimic Group said a consortium that includes its CPB Contractors business was named preferred bidder for a contract to build tunnels for a suburban rail project in Melbourne.
The Australian construction company, which is part of Germany’s Hochtief, said Monday that the works are expected to begin in 2026 and comprise a 16-kilometer section of twin tunnels of 26 kilometers. Alongside Acciona and Ghella, CPB Contractors is part of the consortium that was selected by the government of Australia’s Victoria state as preferred bidder, Cimic said.
Revenue due to CPB Contractors will be disclosed at contract execution, Cimic said.
